I’m interested in purchasing a bunch of MBOX600 units for a fleet of vehicles that will be setup for mobile advertising. My concern though is around the power cycling of these units. Each night when the vehicles return to depot, they will just be turned off. When the drivers set off again in the morning, I’d like to be confident they won’t need to touch the setup, and it will just start up and play content again.
I asked the question to my sales manager at Novastar, and was told “You can power off the MBOX600 but when you turn on the next day you have to open again the software. “
Firstly, is this true? If so, does that not defeat the purpose of it being asynchronous?
Also if it is true, are the Taurus TB boxes the same, or will these just start playing again?
The only similar unit I have experience with is the PBOX150, and they just start playing media again after a power cycle.
Hi, you don’t need to open again the software.
But you need to add a function card. The function card can be set to automatically power down.

Thanks for the reply Jenin.
What is the reason for needing a function card?
Because the function card has a clock switch, it can control the power of the screen timed.

That wouldn’t help us in this scenario. We don’t know when the vehicle will be turned on/off, so we can’t set a power schedule.
I only wanted to make sure that the MBOX600 would start playing content automatically every time it’s powered back on, without needn’t any user input.
Hi, you can try our Taurus card, you don’t need to open again the software again.
Hi Stuart! We use the Taurus System and I can confirm that, After Power on, the Players Start playing the solution (schedule) they ran before Power off…

Just go for a Taurus box, it will auto boot when you power on and you don’t have to send any commands, the settings of the screens won’t change and the player will start auto playing the presentation as it did before. (tested here in out office and showroom)
